MySQL Workbench or phpMyAdmin

Does MySQL Workbench make it easier or harder to add fields to a MySQL database?

What am I missing?  Here is how I am experiencing all of this http://screencast.com/t/yOuXBZ0V.  Assistance is greatly appreciated.

I have always thought that MySQL Workbench is harder to use.  It is not as obvious to use as phpMyAdmin but it can do all the same things and maybe more.  You have to look up the directions for using it.  Since it is not a web browser based program, I believe you have to double click on items to get them to show up in the edit window in the middle.

Hello frugalmule,

As far as I know, you need to right click on table name, which will open popup menu with Alter table option. Clicking on Alter table will open popup with different tabs. Click on column tab to edit fields of table.

Also I prefer HeidiSQL, which is much better than mysql workbench.

HeidiSQL is a lightweight, Windows based application for managing MySQL.

Hope this will help you.

Thank you.
