should I used the embedded database or attach SSO to the same DB that I am using for vCenter?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I would go with vCenter 5.5, it no longer uses a secondary database and it actually fixes linked mode which you can use for vCenter redundancy, it didn't work with SSO and 5.1 very well

Here's a good write up about SSO and 5.5, probably the best thing they fixed in the release.  Both 5.1 and 5.5 have SSO but 5.5 handles it differently and because of this Linked Mode actually works.
