Updatemanager upgrade baseline

I have always had concerns with upgrading ESXi from say vSphere 4 to vSphere 5 and storage connectivity. My main concern by leaving the production LUNs connected while doing the upgrade on a host is that something might happen to the LUNs during the upgrade process.

What do you guys usually do? I often disable ports on FC switches.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Thanks hanccocka. I will continue doing that, eventhough an upgrade will take longer that way its always good to be safe.

I ensure all VMs are shut and perform my upgrade.  Never had any issues.
