By installing BE you get free support for 1 backup device.<br />
Since is it thinkable a server has more than one device you can use this license to support multiple backup devices.

Backup Virtual Tape Library option

It has a number of versions, including including Foundation, Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter, Web, HPC Server, Itanium and Storage; new features included server core installation and Hyper-V.

It can also be used for recovering data from an earlier point in time and even for cloning machines or applications. There is a wide variety of backup/restore software available, from expensive commercial products to free or open source tools.
