Internet Explorer

Hi, I have a computer that is Windows 7 x64 with IE 9. The problem is some of the software on this system cannot use IE9, it has to be IE7 or 8. I removed IE9 from the Windows Features but when I tried to install IE7 it is telling me a newer version is already installed. How do I get by this? Thank you

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you removed IE9 it should have gone back to IE8 automatically.  I don't believe you can run IE7 on a Windows 7 Box.  But you could try running IE8 and use the Developer tools to run the IE7 Rendering engine.  I believe F12 brings up the options.

Hope that helps.

This was great, I did look down the updates but only went as far as Microsoft, I did not go down to the Windows section. I am at IE8 now, Thank you!!!
