VMWare P2V vCenter Converter Standalone Problem

I'm using VMWare P2V vCenter Converter Standalone to convert a Server 2003 R2 to the virtual environment.  I've already converted one physical server so I know it works.  This second server hangs at 96%.  I've left it for 24 hours and still no movement.  So I cancel the conversion process and try to start the new VM and get a black screen with a non-blinking cursor.  It won't start.
I need help to get this new VM working or how to get another conversion going and finish at 100%.  ESX Host is ver 5.1

Yes.  I'm making the Hard Drives smaller.  There is a lot of empty space.  I'll try again without touching any of that.
Once you have a virtual computer then there is time to play and reconfigure.
