Need Help Adding Additional Navigation Menu in Header of Wordpress Site

I want to add an additional navigation menu in my header that will appear above my current navigation menu.  I am using the Customizr theme with a child theme.

I have may have found the solution here, ( ) but I can't figure out where I am supposed to put the code. I'm still fairly new to Wordpress.

If you can  please review  the above link and let me know if this is truly the solution and if it is, can  you please assist me in where to place the code in my Wordpress site?

add this to functions.php

register_nav_menu( 'name', __( 'admin name', 'theme' ) );

this will add a menu option to your back end under appearance menus

where name is a slug style name
admin name is an easy name for you to remember and is in your translation file
theme is where your translation files are located

register_nav_menu( 'global', __( 'Global Menu', 'twentyeleven' ) );

then in the place you want to put the new menu, maybe in header.php just add

wp_nav_menu( array( 'theme_location' => 'global', 'container_class' => 'global-menu' ) );
