SQL Tables

Hi, I using Asset navigator 5.1 helpdesk portal and I'm getting error when updating a ticket.
I'm using sql express 2008.

This is the error:  Activity has not been submitted - The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_HD_Ticket_Activity_HD_Ticket_Activity_CategoryHD_Ticket_Activity". The conflict occurred in database "NAV5", table "dbo.HD_Ticket_Activity_Category", column 'Activity_Category'

thanks for you support.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What was the insert statement you issued?

It looks like you entered a value that is NOT in the unique column that the foreign key references.

Hi
Maybe you want insert data in "dbo.HD_Ticket_Activity" but you dont have any information
 about that in table "dbo.HD_Ticket_Activity_Category".

if you are using a product (i.e. "Asset navigator 5.1") why are you issuing inserts at all?

they should be performed by the product (or via some supported API) and you may be violating your support arrangements by direct DML
