You might be able to find a tool that can remove the attachments for you, and store them elsewhere. Lots of those around. <br />
That will create white space. <br />

Is there a way to shrink the EDB file such as stripping out HTML and images in old messages? <br />

Current messages within the past year we need the HTML/Images but after that older messages text only is fine. We are running exchange 2003?<br />
<br />
If a newer version of exchange does this or compacts the file size better we are not opposed to upgrading.
