I have a WCF service with a lot of methods, in excess of 100. I want to create some unit tests for this service.
I can use the non-async calls and test those, but our app uses the async versions, so the tests are not really as valid as they could be.
However, standard unit testing within VS2010 is for sync tests only, an async test will fail the test before we get the actual results.
I have spent hours searching the web for a simple way to do this, but all async tests seem to be related to Silverlight.
I have found, and tied the NuGet Async unit tests for Vs2010, but this requires the calling method to return a task, which the standard WCF methods don't.
I find it hard to believe that Microsoft would give such useful methods as WCF, async calls, and unit tests, but then don;t let them work together without writing mountains of code for each test.
Does anyone have a simple way to achieve this?
