External SMTP Server inside Plesk Control Panel

I have a dedicated server and it is running Windows Server 2008 OS. I did not purchase any mail server or services.

I install an third party application "File manager" and it works fine. However, I could not get the email notification to work because the server does not have any mail enable.

Inside the advance setting of the file manager application, I can point the smtp to another server which is my Exchange 2010 server. However, it still does not work even it put all the correct information,

However, inside my server, I am using plesk control panel there is this option called External SMTP Server and I am not sure what to set that.

Can anybody help as the file manager developer says that I have to set that.

Please advise

You need to configure your Exchange server ip in that external SMTP server or use "Mail Enable" from program files to do this.

Apart from this you need to create a receiver connector in Exchange so it will accept relay from your Plesk system.

Chances are that Main Enable is already installed on your server, as Plesk 9.X and higher does this by default.  Try pointing the SMTP server to: and make sure it is using port 25.

By default, localhost relay is enabled so this should just work.
