needing direct online purchase link for an AC power pack for a Gateway (M-Series) laptop

Hello and Good Evening Everyone,

Tonight, I was surprised to see that my current AC power pack for my Gateway laptop was coming apart.  Since I am not sure how safe it is to continue trying to use it, I decided to go ahead and purchase a new one online.  The Gateway laptop is of the M-Series and its model number is SA6.  To be perfectly honest, I bought this laptop second hand, so, I am not exactly sure if the defective AC power connector is the right one for this particular unit.  At any rate, the current defective AC power connector is made by Gateway as well.  The model number of it is 0335C1965.   The output voltage of it is 19V.... 3.42A just in case it is needed.    Perhaps purchasing a new AC power pack will iron out the problem I am having with the new battery recently purchased not charging.

Any help given to this concern will be greatly appreciated.  In the meantime, I will look forward to reviewing any online link or links for purchasing an AC power pack for my Gateway (M-Series) laptop.

              Thank you.

               George

Hello and Good Morning Everyone,

From the analysis given by SIW 2011, I was able to determine the exact model number of this laptop being M-7315U.  With respect to the concern going on with the AC power pack, the brick part  of it is coming apart at the middle.  It looks like it can be simply reconnected using some electrical tape.  Under the circumstances, I still prefer to simply go ahead and replace it just in case there is any kind of internal damage to this Gateway laptop recharger.

Any further followups given to help resolve this matter will be greatly appreciated.

                   Thanks so much once again.

Hello and Good Morning,

Thank you so much nobus for your recent suggestion.  By the way, that is a "great" idea : - )  When I did check out the link, I did notice several different universal power supplies with different tips.  Is there anyone in particular you had in mind to help meet my needs?

Hello

Just one more thing which I almost forgot to ask regarding the universal power supplies for laptops.  While most laptops probably have a voltage output requirement of 19v, some might be different though.  With that point in mind, will the universal power adapter have a switch or setting to select for the proper voltage output?

               Thank you

Hello

After looking over the listed AC power packs for laptops, I decided upon this one at http://www.ebay.com/itm/10tip-90W-Laptop-Universal-Power-Supply-Cord-AC-Adapter-Charger-for-Notebook-/180909507009#ht_2282wt_1043   I did notice one of the voltage selections is 19.5v instead of 19.0v.  I am under the impression it will still work out just fine because the ad did list Gateway as one of a few manufacture brand names it is compatiable with.  At any rate, will the selected one work out for my needs in this particular situation?

Sorry about all of the followup questions.  But, I just want to make sure I make the right choice.

          Thank you

          George

Hello and Good Afternoon Everyone,

Thanks so much for the links given in addition to the feedback given to my follow-up questions.  After reviewing all of the information given, I decided to go with a universal power supply with 10 different connector tips.   This choice is made because of several reasons.  First, the power supplies listed within the amazon links had very mixed reviews from customers.  As such, I was discouraged to further consider any of those as options.  Secondly, the universal power supply chosen list Gateway as being one of the manufacture brand names for compatibility.   And, last but certainly not least. I made the choice for purchasing a universal power supply pack for my Gateway laptop because of possible future troubleshooting sessions to help out family and friends.  I think it would be nice to have such a power supply because of its versatility or use with a variety of different manufacture brand name laptops as opposed to just one.

At the moment, I am currently waiting to receive the chosen one purchased from the following link  http://www.ebay.com/itm/10tip-90W-Laptop-Universal-Power-Supply-Cord-AC-Adapter-Charger-for-Notebook-/180909507009#ht_2282wt_1043
I received an email confirmation indicating it was shipped yesterday afternoon.  I am confident it will work out for my current and future needs.

Once again, many thanks for the suggestions and links given within this post.
Personally, I found all of the information helpful in making an informative decision on the purchase of this laptop power supply.
