Is there a way I can use the arrow keys as normal in Oracle SQLPlus?

I just want to use left and right keys to move my cursor and the up and down keys to show my flip among my previous commands.  Thanks.

In Windows sqlplus (command prompt version) will allow arrow keys.

In 10g and before there is a sqlplusw GUI that will not.

I'm running sqlplus under Linux (Cent OS 5 or 6, I have two).  I'm not sure if rlwrap is something I'm looking for.

Then what you want is not possible, only thing you can do is type ed at the sqlplus prompt to invoke the configured editor that lets you edit your previous sql statement. Save and close that editor to return to sqlplus and enter / to execute your (edited) statement.

You can set your sqlplus editor like this (from the sqlplus prompt):

define_editor='vi'

or put the above line in ${ORACLE_HOME}/sqlplus/admin/glogin.sql
