I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

WHat are you seeing?

What do you expect?

When the formula executes (regardless of section in the report) there is only 1 record available to pull data from.  You need to remember that Crystal works on 1 record at a time so there is only 1 value to use in the formula

WIll each parameter value only cause 1 record to be returned?
WHat if multiple records are returned?

Sample report showin Parm and crystal paramter definition
Here is the sample of what is produced currently.  As you can see it list multiple parameters for the report.
See attached PDF.

I need to link the I111XXX number (which is a key on the data) to a filed in the table that show the ship via code.
Not sure if that helps but ....

My guess is that I am doing something that cannot be done, of course we all know that is not 100% true.  I guessing that no one can understand what I am asking and therefore cannot come up with a solution, because I sure this should be able to be done.
All I like to do is use the same data that is selected when running the report to look up another piece of data and display it in the header of the report.  Maybe a sub report?)
So original report runs using the Order number to looks up the data..No Problem.
Then I need to look up or pull form the same table the ship via associated to the Order number, like to have the Order number and the ship via display on the header of the report?

I getting confused because If i use the parameter field in the formula I get a Boolean error.
I sure wish I had some help, usually I can get some help here but seems that latley your team of experts is getting weaker or just I have a bunch of dumb questions...

You will probably need to use a subreport to get the result you want.

You can create a subreport that takes the same parameter and returns the string you want printed out or that displays it in the subreport.

DO you need assistance creating the report or linking it into the main report?

Can I add a sub report the to Report header?
Yes, I may need some help, because I not sure how to pass the Parameters from the Main report to the sub report, I tried to link but it did not work or i did something wrong?

TO link the parameters create the same parameter in the subreport.
Right click the subreport
Click CHANGE SUBREPORT LINKS
Choose the parameter from the main report
Choose the parameter you created from the subreport (don't use the one they suggest of {?PM...

Thanks for all your help, I found a problem in the joining of the files I was using in the report.  I used  header file for one selection and a detail file for the other, they both have the same data more the detail will have multiple line for  the selection, anyway I HAVE FIXED MY ISSUES.
