SBS 2011 with Surface Pro

We have a SBS 2011 server running our internal network.

We have just purchased a Surface Pro and the windows update isn't working.

Do we need to activate something on the server for the updates to be pushed onto the tablet?  For example its missing Microsoft .Net 3.5.

Can you change the setting so WSUS doesn't update this device and allows the user to manage the updates?  We want all other clients to remain being updated by WSUS.

What happens when you chech for updates manualy?

Open windows update, below "updates are managed by system administrator" click on check online for updates..

Did you select the windows content to be downloaded on WSUS server?
How did you join the tablet to the domain?  Did you use the http://connect wizard?

If we check for updates manually it works, it failed the first time but then it updated.  It downloaded and installed over 50 updates.

The content is being downloaded on the WSUS server - the checkbox is ticked - but still doesn't update from the server.

We joined the tablet using http://connect wizard.

.Net 3.5 still cannot be installed, does anyone have any ideas?

Did you have UR3 for SBS 2011 installed to support Windows 8?

How do I change the policy to use windows update and not wsus - I want all other clients to remain using the wsus server just the tablet device to use windows update - is this possible ?

Wsus is the latest version

You have a few ways around this
a.  Remove the tablet from the domain
b.  Modify the current SBS Client GPO

Will the tablet be used in the office on a regular basis...or primarily out of the office?
Would need to be kept on the domain so the policy would have to be changed, which policy and what do I need to change ?
