SQL Server considerations with Farm restore in SharePoint 2007

We have used the farm backup facility in SharePoint 2007 Central Administration to perform a backup of our SharePoint Farm, including Project Server 2007. We are wanting to restore this to another environment, which is fine, however, what are the considerations required for SQL Server with relation to logs etc.

Does anyone know how this process actually works under the hood?

Easiest way to restore SharePoint is to backup content databases. Create your new environment with the web applications and content databases.  Restore your SQL database backups after you take the SharePoint DBS offline and after the restore, bring the databases back online.   Refer to following link for more information:
