Windows Server 2012 Essentials as Virtual machine not getting a network connection
Hi All, and thanks for any hints or insights...
I am trying Windows Server 2012 Essentials as a virtual machine in Windows 8 Pro on a laptop I have. It is an i5 with 8 GB of RAM, 4 GB dedicated to the VM. The VM is created in Hyper V. I just want to practice in this environment. It's not going to be production.
The trouble is that during the install, it fails to find the network, whether the laptop is directly wired or using my wireless connection. After restarting the VM it continues the install only to fail because of no connection. If I halt the Installation Monitor, I can access the network setting of the VM, There's one Network adapter set for DHCP.
What might I be missing here? Is there a way to bridge the connection from the host OS to my VM?
Thanks again for any hints.
