Office 365 message tracking

Hello EE,
We are in a Hybrid scenario now and currently all mail comes to our on premise server and then some of the migrated users mailboxes on 365 are then redirected out thru the Hybrid server.  The problem I have is I see for our on premise delivery a message hit our gateway and came into our on premise exchange server

but it was never delivered to the O365 user.  When I search the portal for his mailbox it doesn't show it.  How can I find what happened to it.

Do a message trace in Office 365. You will probably have to use the hybrid domain as the recipient address.

Does this happen for all users or only specific ones? You might have some issues with the connector to Office 365 (most common one is TLS settings).

So we have Forefront ___________________> on premise Exchange 2003 which goes to Hybrid for connection to Exchange Online for users who have been migrated.  I can see in Forefront the message came into our corporation and he is getting messages and others are too though not this one with a 22MB attachment.

I run the message trace in O365 and it shows the attached sorted by sender name should have adam listed but it doesn't.  You can also see for the attachment though that the gateway shows it came through so why if the on premise received and redirected to Hybrid would it not end up in user mailbox?
Vasil Michev (MVP)Commented:
Well for one, the attachment might be the problem. Exchange Online allows up to 25MB, but that should be considered it total with the encoding overhead, which is usually around 30%. So 22MB attachment is most likely considered too big. It is shown as 30MB on the gateway :)

That's exactly it the connector is set at 10MB is this the default?
Vasil Michev (MVP)Commented:
10MB is per individual attachment, total message size is up to 25MB. Read more here:

TL;DR version - you cannot change this :)

So if we have an E3 it's still 10MB max per attachment?  Looks like 25MB but the connector shows 10MB can this be raised?
