"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes, that is what I was meaning.  We are entering data into the table directly and then displaying it in Wordpress using this plugin.

I'm not sure we should be doing the data entry from within the table but that is the only way we are aware of currently.  This is the reason we need to comment because we don't have an efficient way of entering the data except along one long table row.

Support is saying that Varchar2 is not supported by phpMyAdmin but supports that function.

not sure how you comment above relates to the original question regarding comments, but:
"varchar2" is an Oracle rdbms data type; "varchar" is a MySQL data type

also not sure which "support" organisation you are referring to.
