I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you cant do it in html alone, you will need to use a programming language like asp.net PHP asp JavaScript etc, html doesn't contain  logic ability

Even if you validate in javascript/jquery, you should always validate serverside as QuinnDex suggested.

HTML5 does have some form input formats although not really validation.

Prabir_Bhattacharjee, thank you for the points.   Did the form input do the trick?  You should really validate form input on the serverside.  Would you like the question re opened to work on that?
