recover xp after virus attack

Hello our win xp from a pc is working properly but missing parts like calc.exe and others, we just recovered from a virus attack using  AVG 2014 and antimalware.

Now several local Apps from windows like CALC.EXE are not function any more.
And many icons from many files are lost now... we only get generic icon

Is there any way to complete win xp again without tryng to install de OS all over again?

I would have tried a system restore to before the virus attack and then run cleanup tools.

You can check out this guide for assistance.

It my be productive for you to do a repair install.
you can run these for repairing  :
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html                        SFC use in XP
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm            Repair install  XP

however , for severe virus infections that have damaged the oS - i always try a fresh install - just to be sure
in the end  - it's the ONLY way to be sure it's clean, and often is the fastest solution
don't forget to backup the data!
