Rules in SonicWall

Hi

In my network I create an Intranet and I want it to be seen by outsides users on the port 81. Where should I go on my TZ215 to direct the correct rules on the port?

Thanks

I would use the public server wizard in the upper right hand corner.  In selecting public server type, choose other in the dropdown for services.  Create a service here and call it whatever you want maybe PORT 81 or INTRANET.   After that just step through the wizard with the IP information.

I would also suggest you enable authentication on the Intranet site unless you do not mind outside users seeing it.  Enabling authentication though should also include SSL though.

I receive this error

Bad Request - Invalid Hostname

HTTP Error 400. The request hostname is invalid.

Is your intranet inside setup to receive requests on port 81 also or do you wish to redirect External port 81 to internal port 80 requests?  If not, then you would need to change the NAT rules under Network -> Nat Policies.      For example, in the   Any | Original | YOUR WEB SERVER PUBLIC  |  YOUR WEBSERVER PRIVATE |  YOUR PORT 81 |  ORIGINAL  you would want to change the last original which should be the translated service to HTTP port 80.

You would need to edit the nat rules then for the other 2 rules that pertain to this server

Hi

It seems like it is working for the port forwarding. The problem is at IIS I think.

Do you have your host headers properly setup?

I don>'t know. I'm a little lost.

When I'm inside my network I use hhtp://name:81 and it is opening the site correctly. If I use http://ipadress:81 or http://servername:81 it doesn't open
