Word Document page setup problem

I have MS 20rd 2010 and every time the user tries to move the margin, the page setup dialog appears.  I have circled what she is trying to move, I think it's called the margin.
In the middle of the page, is the screen that keeps on popping up.

Any ideas how to fix this?

There is a feature in Word where double click opens the context sensitive dialog ... are you sure they are clicking rather than double clicking?

It seems that default normal template for the user is corrupted. Please create a new one by searching for "Normal.dotm and rename it to oldNormal.dotm

Then open word once again and it will create a new one for the user.

What i seems to find is this is not default behaviour for work to open page setup dialogue box each time user is moving margin.

I was able to repoduce the issue by double clickng on the gray area of page at the top after the margin pointer.

Hence also make sure user is not double clicking to move the pointer to the right.

I am NOT double clicking, as I personally went to the PC and tested it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.    So as soon as I click on the line, to drag it to the right or left, it either pops up with that dialog.  Sometimes it doesn't pop up, and it allows me to drag the line in either direction.

I'll try the suggestion with the normal.dotm file now.

that did NOT solve the problem.

There seems to be a deeper problem with the PC. The option is set to open items (double click), but on some items on the desktop, if you just click once, it opens the items, like windows media player, word, excel, etc..   But some you have to double click on to open.
I'm doing a repair on office now, but this is strange, I've never seen this before.

Any other ideas?
