Google Chrome - how to remove "keep or discard" download popup?

One on my users has recently moved over to Google Chrome but every time he click on a pdf file it downloads the file but then a pop up appears asking if he wants to "keep or discard" the download before opening it.

I want to remove this popup so that every time he clicks on a pdf file link it automatically opens in Adobe reader without any popups appearing. Please advise how this is done.

I have attached a screenshot displaying the error at the bottom of the screen.

By default, Chrome uses a built-in PDF viewer to open PDFs. If you've disabled the built-in PDF viewer, Chrome will use Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader to display PDFs.

chrome://plugins/ Chrome PDF Viewer you can disable it there
