CMD.exe will not work giving error message:

not a valid win32 application

Now none of the batch files will run. how should i fix this? Can i simply reinstall the 'cmd.exe' to fix this?

Thanks for all the answers! During the troubleshooting process I just reinstalled the "CMD.EXE" and it resolved the issues it seems as though the binary got corupted somehow.

Seems your machine is virus infected. Please run a full scan and also malware scan.

Also open msconfig and check the startup items. Uncheck if you found something not related to your process.
Along with this check below registry key and delete unwanted startup items.

This will show you all startup items and make sure you have taken backup of registry before making any changes.

(1) Restore your computer to an earlier point in time before this problem occurred. The best way to do this is to boot up in safe mode with command prompt and type rstrui.exe to restore.

(2) As pradeep08_81 suggested, scan your computer with Malwarebytes Antimalware (free).

I trouble shot the issue and it seemed the binary just needed to be replaced.
