i am try to set SQL database on machine Windows Server standard edition 2012 i install SQL server 2008 R2 and now i am installing Sql Studio manager 2012

My question if i would like to set Database to SQL server 2008 R2 is it done through SQL Studio manager 2012 tool? or No and there is other way?

i have MDF files and i would like to load it to SQL server 2008 R2
is only with studio manager i can set database? is every action i would like to set in database is must to done through tools like studio manager or it can be done directly SQL server 2008?

As far as I know you will need the Client tools (SSMS: SQL Server Management Studio) to attach the database.  If there is a scripted method I am not aware of it.  You would need SSMS 2008R2 or later to attach a 2008R2 database.
