hween- does it get dangerous or out of control?

in usa, down oct 31 celebrations sometime get out of hand.. on new years day, the max thing get out of control is drinking and driving and getting tickets.. (and hopefully no accidents)

but i have heard car tires torn apart on oct 31st by unruly crowd as part of prank.. (damage to property- few 100$ loss).. is that the extent of what can go wrong? people say about objects in candies.. not sure how they can do it and get away with it... does it get worse than that? how bad can it go or how bad has it gone, historically?

any thoughts from your experience/observations?

I guess it doesn't get worse than Detroit: Significant rise in Detroit fires over Halloween weekend 2010
Detroit mayor at the time Dennis Archer created Angel's Night in 1995 to replace the stigma of "Devil's Night" that had news media from around the world reporting on the devastation Detroiters did to their own city on the nights leading up to Halloween.

Like any type of celebration, I think it just depends on where you are.

Things are actually getting better.  Believe it or not.  You are watching to much media hype.

When kids go trick-or-treating from house to house, how is it possible to know what treats come from what house! That is how they 'get away with it'!!!
