asked on

How can I switch off automatic formula entry when arrow cursor key pressed?

I type any vale in any cell.
When I press the arrow key to go to an adjacent cell, the value changes in the original cell.

eg Enter "VALUE" in A1
Press down arrow key
A1 value becomes "VALUE+A2"

How do I turn this feature off please?

If I open the same file on a different PC arrow keys work as normal, without formula function.
It must be something to do with the setup within Excel options on the one PC.

Thanks for your help.

Fanpages suggestion regarding single sesseions got me to thinking about the Temp files created by Excel which have caused me problems before.

After clearing these and rebooting the pc everything seems fine.
