IIS 7.5 You do not have permission to view this directory or page.

Hello.

I try to setup a new webpage (asp )

as far as I can see the directory has the same security settings as a directory for another webpage that works. I also tried to set the app pool to the same settings.

I still get You do not have permission to view this directory or page.

Nothing in the logs.

Please help

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I fixed my problem.  It was the handler mapping for Classic ASP.  It was an old site.

Go to IIS 7.5
Select the site node.
Select Handler Mappings.
Select the ASPClassic extension and edit feature permissions.
Select the Read and Scripts checkboxes.
