"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi marrowyung,

Most unix systems have a *top* command.  It shows the most active tasks in real-time, updating (by default) once a second.  You need to run it from a unix command shell.

If you're running AIX, it's *topas*.  Any other *nix system and it's probably *top*.

so we can't do it from inside DB2 ? by DB2 command ? must be Solarix command ?

It's an operating system command and must be run from the O/S.  I'm not aware of any tool that spawn an O/S command shell from DB2, though some 3rd party clients might actually do that.
