I have a user that has a Domain user account in a root domain and has another account in a child domain with the same account naming convention i.e. Jblogs@root.com and jblogs@eu.root.com

Now would it be possible to migrate and merge the account from the root domain to the child domain using AD Migration Tool?

Root and Child domains are Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2.

you have change the account name any domain then you can migrate the account with same security permission and membership of group.

With same name it is not possible to migrate user account parent domain to child domain.
