Office 2010

Users are trying to open up office files in 2007 office format in windows 7 office 2010 in and are getting a macro error. So I enabled all micros disabled all 'addins' and it still will not display the tables correctly even though it works on VISTA in office 2007.

what am I missing here why is there an issue with compatibility and what can I do about this?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

From what I can see the compatibility pack is for legacy versions of the office suite. We are using office 2010 and it cannot open office 2007. IT WILL HOWEVER WORK in read only mode but as soon as you enable editing it breaks the format. An ideas?

try this :   http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-word/error-the-function-you-are-attempting-to-run/754c4f1d-532c-4eb3-a7f6-05384141224d
In windows 7, go to control panel, programs and features, highlight microsoft office 2010, then at the top of the window click change. In the pop-up window, click add or remove features. Go down to office shared features. Extend that list and next to Visual Basic for Applications check "run from my computer." Let it do its thing, takes a minute or so. Now word should start without the error

This seems to be a crazy problem that is not resolved easy. "nobus" I reviewed the link you provided and followed your instructions rebooting the machine and it still will not seem to resolve this error message. I have tried using group policy and changing the trust center settings to resolve this issue. I would uninstall /reinstall the application but it is prebuilt inside of the image we use so that is impossible. Besides I would not have the activation key… I don’t know if anyone has any more ideas this is driving me crazy!!!

Yeah I did that even before you suggested and it still does not work :"( . I think this is one that may have to wait until the new version kit comes out.
