VAMT upgrade
Recently upgrade to use VAMT 3.x so I can install Windows 8 and Windows 2012 systems and license them. According to the install instructions I can run both VAMT 2.x and VAMT 3.x on the same system. So that is what happened.
Now how do I turn off VAMT 2.x to ensure all systems are only using the VAMT 3.x for licensing without removing the VAMT 2.x version?

Hi Taztug,
I am trying to perform the upgrade as well, can you please advise if you have successfully migrated VAMT 2.0 to VAMT 3.0.
I would need to install VAMT 3.1 in parallel to VAMT2.0 and then export cil from 2.0 to 3.1.
did you come across any issue while having both versions and also can you please share the steps you took to migrate data and removing VAMT 2.0.
Cheers

I too need to migrate from VAMT 2.0 to 3.0 and would like to do so in a seamless manner. I am not finding allot in the way of answers to this, just more questions. With that said, can VAMT2.0 and 3.0 be installed on the same system and then have everything from 2.0 migrated over to 3.0 without issue? What is the best practice for having this done??? Thank you.

I was able ti install version 3.1 in parallel to version 2.0. Then the migration to version 3.1 was straight forward. The removal of VAMT 2.0 didn't impact the installation of VAMT 3.1.

No worries mate, it was one of those topics with very least information.

You either run the application or you don't. It's not a service where clients are trying to contact it. If you want to run VAMT 3, run it, If you want to run VAMT 2, start it instead. Neither keeps running after you close it, it is just an MMC snap-in.
