USB 3.0 not working after Windows 8.1. update
Dear Experts,
I've updated windows to 8.1. after the update my USB 3.0 devices stopped working.
I tried:
1.In Device Manager removed all USB devices, restarted, Windows automatically installed all the drivers, did not solve the issue
2. Troubleshoot Hardware and devices. This recognised the problem but did not solve it, please see also screen shots

try a system restore to a point BEFORE the update; or uninstall the update

seems not to be possible there is no system restore point BEFORE the update to 8.1
then try the second suggestion: "or uninstall the update "

that is not possible, the only way is to reinstall windows 8 which I do not want to do under any cirucumstances
