Hyper-v machines backup

Dear All,

  I have 40 Hyper-V servers in my network, what is the best way to backup the virtual machines in a regular bases, lets say every 10 days to NAS device. what is the recommended software and NAS devices.

Veeam Backup and Replication for Hyper-V

and also Altaro backup, we really like this product, and now use it instead of Veeam!


Both available for free trials, download them and try them out.

As for a NAS, Synology, Qnap or Drobo, offer low cost solutions, remember the low the disk count, the slower the NAS, also the NAS processor!

Also the backup solution from Microsoft does a very good work with backing up HyperV servers.

I use BackupAssist: http://www.backupassist.com/index.html

It's basically an interface to Windows Backup (at least it started that way) but found it to be very reliable and cheaper than most other server backup solutions.
