1 user receiving everybody's non-read delivery notifications

Exchnag2007SP3 with all updates.
We've asked everyone to clean up their email and to delete sync issues and then empty the Deleted Items folder.

One user, the receptionist, is receiving non-read deliver receipts from at least 2 users, and I suspect everyone, for emails that came from other people.

What is happening, is the receptionist seems to be a "catchall" recipient for any email that was deleted and never read, at least for internal emails, no matter who the sender was and who is deleting them from their own email.

Again, the receptionist was not the sender, and so far all of the senders were internal users.

We want to shut this off, but we have not been able to locate any Exchange functionality that does this, and there's nothing in her Outlook enabled for any type of delivery receipts.

We were not able to find anything in Google either, yes there are ways to do delivery receipts, but not a "catchall" for the whole company.

What do you think?
thanks!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Maybe you can try with Transport rule and see if that would help if not then there is no easy way

I can only guess the postmaster setting is involved here somewhere. Check the postmaster settings, both the address being used and whether the address is assigned to the receptionist account.

I didn't know how the grading worked, but both answers lead me to the postmaster settings. Nothing was set anywhere for the receptionist, but I did create a postmaster mailbox and configured it per Microsoft specs and the receptionist has not received any other non-read deleted message delivery receipts. Previously, we just had "postmaster@domain.com" added as a 2nd email address for our Admin account.
