Single Sign On Using LDAP / Active Directory in Drupal

We use Microsoft Exchange (hosted inhouse) for our e-mail. That's also tied to our GPO for logging into local machines.

How can I leverage this same account for our public facing Drupal site?

The goal is to have staff authenticate into our Drupal site using their AD account, on-site or off-site.

Is there a best practice for this?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I have had success utilizing the LDAP module to enable users to authenticate using their AD credentials.

It looks that the LDAP module now also supports single sign on, but I have no experience using it for that.
