SQL Server 2005 MSBD Suspect

I was just called in to check on a database issue and when I logged into SQL Server 2005 I was immediately greeted with a message telling me the MSDB database is suspect. Most of the options are now disabled, like Maintenance Plans, etc. How do I recover a suspect MSDB?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

When I run the instmsdb.sql after renaming the msdbdata and msdblog files I get this message.

database msdb cannot be opened due to inaccessible files or insufficient memory or disk space - in recovery pending status

Nothing I am trying is working. I am going to detach the databases and capture the the logins and then reinstall SQL.

I actually found a copy of msdb mdf and ldf sitting in a template folder on this server. I shut SQL down and copied these two over. I then had to follow KB 914171 to get any of the jobs to run. Thanks for your help.
