Quest Exhaust Fan for a rack cabinet side panel

Hi,

I need an advice on getting a fairly quiet (30dB tops) fan to install on a side panel. I need to be ablt to plug it directly in the mains, so either a 230Vac or one that comes with its own power supply, or can be powered by a generic usb power supply. Size is flexible, as the panel can be cut out, but approx. 200-300mm would be best.

Thanks!

But how much air must it move. A little fan is easy to get. Any small fan will be quiet enough, but if lots of cooling is required a quiet one may be harder to find. Are there any thickness restrictions? 200 x 300 mm is pretty big.
You need to know the size of the cabinet or rack, the total power consumption for all the  internal equipment, and the max allowable temperature.  That will tell you how much cooling (cubic feet per minute) you need.

I will try to find an on-line calculator.
