WMI Error Windows 7 slow response

I have a Sony Vaio running windows 7 home premium, It's been reported that it's slow. Checking event log after updating all windows updates, I'm seeing WMI error 0x80041003. Could this be causing any slowdown?

Can you provide any recommendations for testing and applying solutions to speed this computer up. It has 6G ram, Intel Core I5-2450MCPU @ 2.50 Ghz.

Hard drive is 615G with only 62G used.

This may cause the slowness,
use below link to fix the issue.
It's not the cause of the slowness, but running the VB Script from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2545227
will stop the error from appearing in your event logs.

Troubleshooting a "slow" computer is almost an impossible task unless there are other issues.  You have to narrow down exactly what is slow (a certain operation, a certain application, etc.).
Running a check for malware is always a good thing.
Check the hard drive.
Update drivers.
Run sfc /scannow
Run Process Monitor and look at CPU usage, etc, especially during a slow instant to see if you can spot a misbehaving process.
Use msconfig to disable all non-Microsoft services and startup programs and reboot to see if the problem still exists.  If so, go through the process of enabling half, rebooting, and observing, repeating as necessary until the problem reappears, then disabling some of the items that were enabled during the last run until you find which one is causing a problem.
Try an OS reinstall.
