BlackBaud Raiser's Edge 6.x -- Embedded UID and Password for DB

This should be simple if I can connect with right people.  RE version 6.x

I can not make an ODBC connection with the RE.DB.;  It asks for the User ID and Password.
I have used the default Application UID -Supervisor and Password - admin; No luck.

Does anyone know if Blackbaud embedded a database UID and Password that prohibits getting into the DB without going through the actual Raiser's Edge application?

Thanks,

Not sure, ...

But are you quote sure that the default Application UID=Supervisor and the Password=admin
?
Are you sure you have spelled them correctly?

Yes, to log-in to the application the User is Supervisor and Password is admin.  I think what I am looking for is the SA credentials.
Just to be clear, I am not sure if, or how RE might deny Access via ODBC, ...

But also make sure you have the most recent ODBC driver installed...

Also have you tried contacting RE support directly?

This software has been at end of life for quite sometime and to talk with RE support, it appears you need a current contract.
The OBDC drivers are the ones that came with the software.  The connections seem to work up to the point you need a UID and PWD.

The INI files for the connection appear to not need an UID or PWD (I'll attach those if requested) but maybe I'm not reading them correctly.
To be clear, are you connecting via code or with the table link wizard?

I'm using the OBDC administrator, although there is a basic registry entry for RE created by the 32bit OBDC update.  The ini files in the Windows directory were created by the app and are primarily for running the 16 bit drivers (pre registry).

I also have some downloaded tools for also creating links --- Sybase Interactive SQl and Sybase iAnywhere Editor.

I have tried to hardwire the user and pwd in the OBDC registry entry but it doesn't work with the credentials I have on hand.

Hope this answers some questions.

Again,lets be clear...

If you created a blank Access database, and wanted to link to the RE table(s), ...what are the *exact* steps you would take to do this...

New Database -->external Data --> ODBC Database--> Link to the data source by creating a Linked table--> Machine Data Source.

Select: Blackbaud32 DSN (type user).  There is

Now it asks for User ID and Password, none of which work.
