What's the deal with table adapters???

Hey guys!!

I am using table adapters in my solution.  I have queries that suddenly stop working but if I create another adapter for the same table, create the same query from the first adapter it works ok.  This is very frustrating!!

What's the deal??

Any help would be appreciated,

Does the database change in any way?

mlmcc!!  thanks for the post!!

I don't believe it does.  One day it works and the next day it doesn't.  (I am trying to fill a tableadapter on a form for parameters to open that form) I can make a new table adapter from the same table and copy and paste the query from one to the other and it works fine.

Thanks,

Jerry

I havent used table adapters in a long time so I really don't know.  Your question had sat idle for some time so I thought I would get the discussion going.

mlmcc!!!!  Thanks for the post!!

I am a newbie to C# so what else could I use other than table adapters that would be more stable?  I tried .Net 4 or 5 years ago and writing directly to the sqlserver seemed to take enough time that it made the program run like in the mud.

Thanks again!!

I don't know in C#.

In VB6 I used ADO recordsets since that put the developers in full control over the SQL and the dataset.  I assume those will work in C# but I don't know how to do it.

I'll look at the application I worked on and see if I can find examples in VB6 on how they work.

mlmcc!!  thanks for the post!!

I have written several apps in VB6 but our new data processor wouldn't run with "unmanaged code" so we were forced to "upgrade" to a newer version.

Thanks for all your help!!!
