This is another follow a question I posted yesterday:

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web_Development/Miscellaneous/Q_28272726.html

I now want to insert an image on the left hand side of the navigation menu. When I do that, it raises the top portion of my menu up and doesn't allow the slanted border to rest snuggly on the bottom portion. Like I said in my other post, I'm more of a web dev guy and not a design guy, so I'd greatly appreciate some help on what seems to be such a simple task to do :)

you can see what I'm looking to do here:

Cheers

Add margin-top to .topmenu and just adjust so it sits on top of the bottom menu.

quick question - I'm trying to vertically align the menu item texts, and nothing seems to be working. I tried adding a line-height property but that didnt work. Any suggestions?

If the LI is 50px high then you need
line-height: 50px;

@Gary - any chance you could look at

is there any way around this issue without having to change the format of the menu?
