Outlook 2011 for Mac does not download new messages to Inbox

Hi,

SBS 2011 server.

I have a macbook air with Outlook 2011 on it.  I am not receiving ANY new emails to the Inbox folder however sub folders do receive messages.  For example if I get an item in my inbox and via OWA I delete it, it syncs to my Deleted Items Folder.

If I clear the cache in Outlook on the Inbox, the new messages download but nothing after that,

I have rebuild my identity, added new one, rebuilt database, reinstalled Office.  All to no avail.

Please help this is driving me nuts!

Have you tried setting the account up on a different machine to see if issues occur?  

Can you try running repair disk / drive / file permissions using disk utility? I've seen this in the past and it could be attributed to that.

Issue is exactly the same on another mac!

So this resolved itself.. I guess.

Basically I just let the mac sit there with an internet connection for about 6 hours and finally the inbox started downloading.

Just odd because you would think the Inbox would download messages as higher priority than subfolders, but I guess not.
