Looking for Dashboarding software

Good Day,
We have a couple of SQL databases and a few BI cubes used for reporting. Currently we create SSRS reports for the users and publish them on SharePoint Foundations (we only have free version). We would like to provide users with data in a different manner - ideally, we would like to have a user login to a website and be presented with the dashboard which will show a lot of metrics, links to their reports, maybe a built in small report designer that can mine our cubes. So we need a front end for the DB's and cubes. Data will be presented in tabular format, field format, graphs and links to SSRS reports. We would like to have drill downs for some of the fields.

In essence we would like to build "data portals" for the users. "Portal" should be accessible from inside and outside of the company, preferably in the browser on multiple platforms (Windows, Tablets, Ipads, etc).

As the wish list, we would like users to enter certain data (comments), so bi-direction flow of data can occur.

The first software that comes to mind is SharePoint Enterprise Edition. I am fairly certain that it can do whatever we want, but it also comes with a lot of other functionality (workflows, etc) that we will not be using. So I thought I would ask what other people are using. BTW, building a website from scratch s not an option for us.
Thanks in advance.

How many users are you looking to support?  Cognos BI can do what you're looking for, and can scale well to tens of thousands of users.  The dashboarding component of Cognos 10.2 is called "Business Workspace".

We are looking to support 2 developers and about 150 users. Not a lot. Thanks RWrigley.
