Hi All,

We have a Polycom Soundstation 2 Expandable 2201-16200-601 in our Boardroom. We would like to connect this to our new Phone system which uses POE to connect to desk phones.

The way the phone currently works is as follows. The phone itself uses a network cable to connect to a power pack. The power pack then has a power cable to a wall socket and an RJ11 phone cable that runs to an adapter that itself has an RJ45 end to it. This adapter in turn plugs into a wall mounted network port to our office internal network.

Surely if the power pack is passing power and information via a network cable to the polycom phone itself, i should be able to plug the phone directly to our network/poe switches?

Any ideas then please let me know.

Thanks!

I have the same model.  According to Polycom, it is not possible and they direct you over to their Sound Station IP x000 models.
