Win 7 laptop won't boot
I've reformatted a laptop and began the install of Windows 7 Ultimate on it. After the first reboot from the install the machine hangs during the POST process and never loads Windows (black screen with flashing cursor). I tried doing a repair of Windows 7 with the DVD which included repairing the MBR and still cannot boot. Is there something that I'm missing?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Could try running a hard drive diagnostics test, could be a bad sector on the drive or try reinstalling with a different disk
The error means that Setup is unable to validate the Windows image file and believes it is corrupt.
Maybe there is an error on your DVD. Try to burn a new high quality DVD at the slowest speed possible. If this doesn’t work, try to create a bootable USB flash drive instead. Check the following source for instructions on how to create the bootable flash drive. [Source]
Also try to not reformat the hard drive when you attempt to install Windows 7.

NRhode and Andray_1 - I'm attempting to install from another disc now.
Andray_1 - I already refomatted the hard drive could that be the issue?
