Hi my boss wants me to create ignite tapes in order to restore a server222 from Site A to server223 to site B.
He has sent me these commands

Server222:
LTO
nohup /opt/ignite/binpa/make_tape_recovery -a /dev/rmt/c6t2d0BESTn -v -x inc_entire=vg00 -x exclude=/tmp/software &
DLT8000 on right
nohup /opt/ignite/binpa/make_tape_recovery -a /dev/rmt/c5t1d0BESTn -v -x inc_entire=vg00 -x exclude=/tmp/software &

Server223:
LTO
nohup /opt/ignite/binpa/make_tape_recovery -a /dev/rmt/c6t0d0BESTn -v -x inc_entire=vg00 -x exclude=/tmp/software &
DLT8000 on right
nohup /opt/ignite/binpa/make_tape_recovery -a /dev/rmt/c4t2d0BESTn -v -x inc_entire=vg00 -x exclude=/tmp/software &

~~~
To verify:
check nohup.out
mt -t /dev/rmt/???n rew
mt -t /dev/rmt/???n rew
mt -t /dev/rmt/???n fsf 1
tar tvf /dev/rmt/???n
He also gave me 2 LTO2 tapes.
So , do i need to get these two tapes to the tape drive connected to server 222 and run the commands he gave me ?
The place them to 223 and run the commands he gave me for server 223 ?
Any help would be appreciated.
If you only have two LTO tapes, you can forget the DLT tape drive -- the tapes aren't compatible or usable one in the other.  The LTO drive will be faster, anyway.
Those look like the correct commands, with these caveats:
1) "Check nohup.out" is telling you to look at the file and see if there are any errors in the log file "nohup.out"
2) The question marks in the mt and tar commands will be replaced by numbers, I believe, that correspond to the number assigned by the OS to your particular tape drive.
This document should help:
