Using iPhone 4s after upgrade to 5s

I just upgraded from an iPhone 4S to an iPhone 5s.

Everything has worked fine on the iPhone 5s. The iPhone 4s still has Internet on WiFi, but of course, no phone service anymore. The problem is when I try to update apps, or order more, on the iPhone 4S I'm not able to connect to the iTunes store.

1. What do I have to do to do this?  Open a separate account?

2. And I going to have to pay for my apps all over again on the iPhone 4S?

3.  Should I avoid upgrading the 4s to iOS 7.x.x, as being requested?

1. I use 2 iPhones on the same iTunes and it is the same account. Try resetting the phone to see if it will connect with the same account.

2. You should not have to pay again. I do not.

3. No. I have IOS V7.0.3 on both my iPhone 4S machines and it works fine.

First I assume you have a good backup of your iPhone (or can rebuild it is necessary).

Go to the Settings Icon on your screen, General Settings, and Reset at the bottom. Open Reset.  You have a number of possibilities.  Reset All Settings might work.  Erase all Content and Settings will work, but then you need to recover the iPhone. I have done this (new phone to replace damaged phone) and the new phone recovered from iTunes. Nothing lost in my case.

Before you do this, if an Apple Store is near, ask them about number 1 to see if they have any additional options.

I was awaiting an email reply from Apple, but decided to check my account info.

When I changed it to match what was on the 5s, and filled in some missing info., I was able to update apps.

You gave good advice and info. for anyone with a similar problem.
