we use devexpress for winforms and most of the developers, really would like to get away from it. overall they have decent controls but some of the bigger controls are wiley and you really have to force them into submission.... some features aren't documented and some are aren't documented enough. Every product is going to have fans and haters... i don't necessarily hate devexpress tools but I wouldn't choose them again. (6 years working with their controls).

another caveat, don't ever EVER believe their sales team on modifications or functionality. look at their white pages or tech documents. what you can see is "mostly" what you can get.

we were promised some functionality 6 years ago and others have asked for it too but still it is a no go.

as far as support... i have had some good and some really bad experiences. expect to have to provide a demo module for anything you need an answer for.
